Very Berry Dumplings

1 lb Frozen Mixed Berries (of your choice)
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Water
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice (optional)
Dumplings:
1 1/2 Cups Whisk Mix
3/4 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Water
Mix the fruit, sugar, water, and juice in a large deep lidded pot or saucepan. A 9" round dutch oven works well. Bring fruit to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Mix the dumpling ingredients together to form a semi stiff dough. Drop heaping tablespoons of dough into simmering berries.
Cover the pot and reduce heat to med low. Let dumplings simmer about 12 minutes, until they are cooked through. Do not stir.
Let cool until warm. Serve with ice cream or whipped topping if you like.
